What's Right For You?_www.canon.com

I am frequently asked about new video camcorders. Bottom line, Sony, JVC, and Panasonic no longer make a Mini-DV camcorder that has the four important camcorder features needed by law enforcement. These features are: on-the-lens focusing, an auxiliary microphone jack (needed for turning off the sound), a headphone jack for monitoring audio levels when you want to record sound, and analog inputs.

That leaves Canon. There are currently three models that meet the needs of law enforcement. They are the Elura 100, the GL2 and the L-2. They range in price from just over $300 dollars to over $3000.
