Panasonic PVGS-500-Suitable for Law Enforcement Work?
A quick camcorder review_

A participant in our class in Indianapolis was using a recently pruchased a Panasonic PVGS-500. I was impressed by the camcorder. It was easy to handle and make grfeat video under a variety of lighting conditions. A 3-chip model, it has on -the-lens-focusing and a axuillariy microphone jack for use with a knock-out plug. The camcorder, does however, lack a headphone jack so it may not be usitable for interview-interrogiation work or wireless audio system. The PVGS-500 uses mini-dv tapes rather than a hard drive. I am still convinced that mini-dv tape is better because you have an orginal recording which is readily avaialbe for inspection by the court. I know I sound like a broken record, but it bears repeating; Sawabini & Associates does not sell video equipment nor do we represent anyone who does.
